Guvet Earns Royal Approval Through Lady Alice Manners' Recommendation

The Duke of Rutland, one of the UK’s oldest noble families, boasts a legacy spanning nearly 1,000 years. Their residence, the iconic Belvoir Castle—often dubbed the “modern-day Downton Abbey”—is a national heritage site and the backdrop for numerous renowned films, series, and magazine covers, including The Crown and The Da Vinci Code.

The family’s annual sailing excursions in the frigid sea air demand attire that provides exceptional warmth, waterproofing, wind resistance, and breathability while meeting rigorous aesthetic and quality standards. This winter, they sought a high-end goose-down brand that would deliver both technological innovation and fashion-forward design.

Lady Alice Manners, the second daughter of the Duke of Rutland and a graduate of the Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design, introduced Guvet to the family. As a fashion buyer for Selfridge, one of the UK’s most esteemed luxury retailers, Lady Alice combines a deep understanding of aristocratic tastes with a sharp eye for fashion quality. Guvet’s understated elegance, impeccable craftsmanship, and ethos of “creating desirable products” won the trust of the Duke of Rutland family, earning its place as their official supplier of luxury goose-down garments.

A Masterpiece of Design and Craftsmanship

The British Royal Haute Couture Goose Down Collection was created under the artistic direction of Maria Cristina Petrone, Guvet’s global creative director and former chief designer at Hermès, alongside Burak Uyan, a celebrated designer with tenures at Moncler and Givenchy.

The collection, themed “Snow Region,” features the finest luxury materials sourced globally, balancing technical functionality with avant-garde aesthetics. Signature details include V-shaped dynamic quilting, inspired by ski slopes, which exudes elegance and provides a slimming effect. Innovative features like the embossed wind-and-snow hood and space-inspired headgear offer unparalleled protection against the elements while maintaining a sleek, sophisticated appearance.

The collection’s signature black-and-gold palette epitomizes Guvet’s brand ethos: black symbolizes depth and boundless possibilities, while gold exudes understated luxury and refinement. Together, they craft a bold, elegant narrative that reflects the royal family’s prestige.
